Cleaning Up Vader! - Code Enforcement Strategies in Full Force

Post date: Dec 7, 2016 9:59:46 PM

Have you noticed? Several properties in Vader have been getting cleaned up this Fall! Junk vehicles removed, vegetation cut back and trimmed, refuse removed and cleaned up. All this and more is happening around the City of Vader and the Mayor and City Council work to "Clean Up Vader!"

The City Council has worked for the past two years to get the appropriate regulations in place that would allow the Mayor to enforce clean-up regulations. We have finally begun to see the fruits of this extensive efforts. Several properties have already removed junk vehicles, overgrown vegetation, refuse and burned-out buildings. Another thing you might notice around town is boarded up vacant buildings which may be unsightly now, but they represent the effort to secure the property from vagrants, squatters and wild animals. This effort will help make our neighborhoods safe for all who live nearby. Safety is the city's first priority. Council will begin to discuss the "beauty" aspect in the next round of actions to be addressed.

Hopefully you are enjoying a cleaner and safer community atmosphere. If you are aware of any city code violations please contact city hall and help the city staff become aware of possible issues needing to be addressed. You are an important part of the community and when we work together we can accomplish great things!
