Disposal site scheduled to open in Spring 2019

The branch and yardwaste disposal site clean-up has finally been completed.

As part of the clean-up, the city has installed a special collection area made of concrete barrier/blocks.

The Council has also decided to manage the disposal site by opening the area only on specific days and times. The disposal site will be monitored and a small disposal fee ($5-$7) will be collected per truck or trailer load. The site will be open only to Vader city residents and will not be open for commercial use.

The fees collected will be used to help the city rent or buy a chipper to control the limbs and branches pile.

By allowing the collection of grass clippings, leaves and branches, the city hopes to have mulch/compost and wood chips available in the future for the public to use in their own landscaping and beautification projects.

The current plan is to open the disposal site in early Spring 2019.

Dates and times will be posted when they are decided.

If you would be willing to volunteer to help monitor or work at the disposal site in the future, please contact City Councilors Judy Costello and Leona Sander-Hunter or contact City Hall at 360-295-3222 or via email: vadercity@centurylink.net
