Lewis County Fire Marshall, Lee Napier, has announced a County Wide Burn Ban effective August 2, 2016 until further notice. Please follow this link to see the details of the County-wide Burn Ban.

The City of Vader has a permanent burn ban in effect within the Vader City limits. This means that burning refuse, brush, leaves or other combustibles of any kind is prohibited in Vader at any time throughout the year. However, recreational fires (small fires in a pit for personal enjoyment like roasting marshmallows and hot dogs) is permitted year-round unless the County Fire Marshall imposes a COMPLETE Burn Ban. At this time recreational fires are still legal but are strongly discouraged.
